2016 ASHRAE Winter Conference and Expo

2016 ASHRAE Winter Conference and Expo

Conference Dates: January 25-27, 2016
Where:Orange County Convention Center
9809 International Drive, Orlando, FL

Waterline Controls is proud to be in attendance at the 2016 ASHRAE Winter Expo. VISIT BOOTH 1892
to see the latest water level control technology.
Drawing industry professionals from around the world, the latest advancements and trends in HVAC engineering will be on display, along with seminars and presentations. A real learning experience is available for all. This year’s Conference will have a new focus on building practices and residential systems, along with all of the expected programs on current trends in HVAC engineering.
2016 ASHRAELast year was a chilly time in Chicago, and Florida was hopefully going to be warmer. With temperatures in the 50’s predicted over the weekend, the massive southern and east coast storms seem to be just far enough away to ensure a safe and comfortable time for all attendees.
The main speaker at the opening Session this year is Laura Schwartz, the former White House director of events for the Clinton Administration. Her journalistic experience includes on air contributions to Fox, CNN and the BBC.
For those with the extra time, Disneyland is a major local attraction, and with warmer weather expected for the few days following the Expo, a lot of attendees should be a few days late getting home…and why not! Temperatures should be in the 70’s, though some rain is expected later in the week. Of course, with all of the displays, meetings, seminars, etc., many will be pretty worn out after all of it.
Custom Services
Waterline Controls will be manning our booth and showing the latest new products, including a brand new, just released product (last week in fact!). It is a new Well Water level control and sensor system. It is our most economical system to date, bringing the advanced control and sensing of our enterprise systems to a level that anyone can easily see the advantage to incorporating it into their existing or new installs. This product is THE low cost solution for well water holding tanks. Once you’ve seen this product, you’ll never use an old fashioned mechanical float switch again…never! You’ll never have to worry about it either, as the sensor will not foul or corrode, and has a 5 year limited warrantee.

Join us in Florida for the latest in HVAC technology…and maybe a little fun and sun.

Geenbuild 2015 Report

Geenbuild 2015 Report

greenbuild-2015
The 2015 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo was bigger and better than ever. Filmmaker James Cameron was in attendance and was the headline speaker. An increase in attendance this year, to 19,058 caused many sold out sessions. Along with James Cameron, headline speakers included Dr. Deepak Chopra and U.S. Secretary of H.U.D, Julian Castro.
Quotes from the Secretary included a powerful statement that “Green building is about reducing energy waste and water use; it’s about creating jobs and sparking economic growth; it’s also about protecting the health of our children for the future.”
Rick Fedrizzi, CEO and founding chairman of USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) got a bit political, commenting on his distaste for the current Republican ‘climate denialists’, putting forth a wealth of data to prove his points (from a recent USGBC study by Booz Allen Hamilton). Fedrizzi stated “The truth is, there is a powerful, conservative pro-business case for conservation and action on climate change, and nobody understands this business case better than the people in this room.”
Some interesting fact presented by Fedrizzi included:

  • By 2018, green construction will account for more than 3.3 million U.S. jobs.
  • Green construction jobs will generate $190 billion U.S. dollars in labor earnings alone.
  • By 2020, the entire new construction market is expected to be worth $10.3 trillion dollars.
  • Close to 40 percent of that new construction will be green — almost $3.8 trillion dollars.

capitol-sm
As usual, we did get to explore the local sights. The Capitol may be covered in scaffolding, but it was still an amazing thing to behold. Washington D.C. is a place every American should try to see at least once. If there was more time and it was a bit warmer it could have been even better. There is no end to the monuments and historical places to see.

Waterline Controls Display

There was a lot of interest in our controllers and water tank level sensors. The number of installations that still use faulty mechanical float switches is amazing. The look of joy on people’s faces when we explain the accuracy of our systems, the amount of water and money they can potentially save, and the total reliability, was nice. When they realize what we offer, the most common response is something like “if we had only known earlier…”.
Our involvement with local utilities to offer incentive programs, and rebates with a comprehensive plan to monitor and reduce water usage and waste, found a lot of interested parties. Remember, get in touch if you want to work with us and your local utilities to start a program in your area.
The conference itself was jam packed and the people there were serious about protecting the environment while insuring that their businesses keep up to date and responsible…and viable. Real businessmen and women seeking economic growth and environmental responsibility at the same time is becoming a force to reckon with. We are proud to do our part, supplying advanced products to help save water, built in the USA by proud Americans.
booth-greenbuild-2015
All in all it was an enjoyable few days talking to likeminded people who can see the economic growth happening in the Green sector and want to grow business while stepping up to the plate to take responsibility for the future of our planet.

USGBC, the presenter of Greenbuild, is committed to a prosperous and sustainable future through cost‐efficient and energy‐saving green buildings.

Weftec 2015 Report

Weftec 2015 Report

WLC Demo

Waterline Controls Demonstration

Weftec 2015 was an amazing event. The sheer size of the hall was surpassed by the amount of displays and booths. Local sales representative Mark Albers and Waterline Controls President Bill Seneff had a busy time demonstrating and answering questions.
We had a lot of interested people from cities, counties and municipalities interested in our work with utilities in their water conservation programs. System integrators were interested the applications for the panels they build for their customers and the working display really answered many questions, particularly the sizing, and the multiple functions and options available.
A lot of new contacts were made and several prospective representatives interested in the integration possibilities for their clients were met. With all of the activities and distractions available the attention we received was very encouraging. The Weftec attendees are a well-educated and knowledgeable group of people from diverse industries around the world, there to educate, learn and see the latest advances in water technologies.
WEFTEC 2015
This years’ show was well attended and populated. The Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) 88th annual technical exhibition and conference set an all-time record, with over 25,000 in attendance and more than 1000 venders exhibits. According to WEF Executive Director Eileen O’Neill. “The record-breaking success of this year’s event is a testament to the value, diversity, and depth for which WEFTEC is known and respected.”

Water Controls for Dams

One attendee was even interested in managing a dam with a modern automatic system that would, finally, replace a manual system that requires manually opening the gates to allow water to flow during rain storms…so someone did not need to go out on the peer and turn the valves! Luckily, we have the system for most any application.

Dinner!
Every night ended with dinner at Tuscany Italian on Taylor Street in Chicago, which is the place to go when in Chicago. See you at next years’ event.
In November we will be in attendance at This year’s “Monumental Green Event”, Greenbuild Expo 2015, to be held in Washington D.C. on November 18-20 at the Washington Convention Center. Join Waterline Controls and many thousands of other people from around the world who agree that green building is a good idea…and good for business.
