Rain Water Harvesting
|
Rain water harvesting is not a new practice, but the industry has been growing fast as of late. California will be requiring rain water harvesting in new construction in 2011, and that could very well start a trend as the country becomes more aware of the need for water conservation, and green initiatives continue to gain influence in construction companies. Rain water harvesting requires storage, of course, and while there are many options for that storage, those options all require a waterline control system to maintain them. This does give us a bit of a personal interest in rain water harvesting, but fortunately you don't just have to take our word for it; a little research into the the benefits of rain water harvesting will yield pretty over-whelming results. Rain water can be used for everything from flushing toilets to watering plants during the dry season with little or no effort beyond storage. With a little extra work, a proper filtering and/or purification system will provide potable water for your building to boot. If you really want to go crazy with it, stored rain water can be used in a low energy consuming, temperature-regulating Trombe wall. Or you could even collect rain after it has watered your lawn using special tanks and fabrics! When you find the perfect rain water harvesting system, make sure you pair it with the perfect control system, from Waterline Controls!
Waterline Controls now offers solutions for your rainwater harvesting needs! Check out model WLC-2000; it will regulate a fill device as a supplement when rainwater is in short supply.
